The first-preference vote counts are complete across Cork, allowing us to see how the parties have performed in different parts of the county.
There are 15 local electoral areas (LEAs) in Co Cork, spread across two local authorities – Cork City Council and Cork County Council.
Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael continue to dominate and secured the highest share of first preference votes in 12 LEAs.
Fianna Fáil did best in Cork City, where it got the top share of the vote in five out of six LEAs.
Fine Gael received the highest vote share in Cobh, Macroom, Mallow and Bandon-Kinsale.
Independent candidates collectively got the biggest share of first preferences in Midleton and Bantry-West Cork.
New party Independent Ireland received the top first-preference vote share in Cork City North East, with its candidate Ken O’Flynn getting 3,134 votes.
