Irish singer Dermot Kennedy is warning fans to be careful about another scam which is using his voice.

The hitmaker is warning fans not to be sideswiped by the con in which AI-generated audio that mimics his voice is being used to ask for money.

Writing on his official Instagram page, Kennedy pleaded with the public to ensure they do not fall for the most recent scam.

The Dubliner pointed out that AI has been used to clone his voice, asking fans for money for a "good cause".

The post added: "As these technologies develop, the use of fake voice notes using Dermot’s voice become part of the scam. Please pay careful attention to small variations in email addresses which can be used to deceive people."

The singer asked followers to be "incredibly vigilant and exercise extreme caution, especially in any circumstances which involves being asked for money.

"If it’s not from either of the official channels, (the official instagram account and email@tapmgmt.com) it is definitely fake."

Late last year the singer issued a warning after revealing his identity was being used in a bid to scam people out of money.

Kennedy took to social media to warn social media users to "please be vigilant" as he noted a "deluge of scam accounts from people impersonating me or my team."

The 32-year-old said: "My team and I are aware of a deluge of scam accounts from people impersonating me or my team. Whilst we work hard to shut these down, we ask fans to be hyper-vigilant and report any impersonators."

He stressed that neither him nor his team would ever "ask for money or personal information."

The Giants songwriter explained that a "common con" is to ask for money to "join a fan club or be on a personal contact list."

He said that he or his team would never "send messages from a 'private Dermot Kennedy account' or a management/ 'personal assistant' account offering exclusive access".
