The episode includes a sequence where Father Ted, played by Dermot Morgan, appears to mock Chinese people by wearing a lampshade on his head.

Later in the episode the priest looks like Hitler thanks to some furious arm gestures and a perfect square of dirt on the window.

The misunderstanding sees Ted spend the rest of the episode trying to convince people in his Craggy Island parish he was not ā€œa bit of a racistā€.

However, the plot point was found to be potentially offensive by Channel 4ā€™s streaming service, with a note to viewers reading: ā€œThis episode was made in 1998 and contains language and racial impersonation which some viewers may find offensive.ā€
