This year's Late Late Toy Show got under way with the theme of the night being 'The Wonderful World of Roald Dalh'.
But the fund-raising effort for children' charities was the real talking point, with over €5 million raised over a few hours and more expected as the rush to donate delayed some donors funds from being recorded.
More than one million people are believed to have tuned in to see the Toy Show, which will look a little different due to Covid.
Veruca Salt, grasshoppers, The Twits, Miss Trunchbull, Charlie and Grandpa Joe, Mrs Fox, the little foxes, Badger AND Ryan ...

The show opened with a performance of 'It's oh so quiet' by Bjork with host Ryan Tubridy dressed as Dahl's famous character, Fantastic Mr Fox.
A plethora of stars on the night included Adam King, who dreams of being the ground captain of a space mission one day.
Such a special moment for the wonderful Adam and the main man John Doyle, Head Porter in @templestreethos. We're SO proud to work alongside our wonderful friend who brings kindness and joy to sick children every single day in his work! #templestreetheroes #LateLateToyShow pic.twitter.com/KqOJTRT0FT

Two other stars, from a show overloaded with heroes, were from the West. First up was Saoirse Ryan, from Galway. This time last year a tumour meant the eight-year-old had to have her leg amputated. Her positivity was a beacon for many struggling through the pandemic.

The other star guest from the west was Michael Moloney, a big fan of Dermot Kennedy who performed a sublime version of Giants, dedicated to his late father. Mid-chorus, in came Dermot Kennedy to marvel at Michael's totally assured rendition.

Children from across Ireland were on hand to review this Christmas' most wanted toys, but without the staple studio audience.
Restrictions on international viewing were lifted on the RTÉ player for the programme, allowing viewers all around the world the opportunity to watch.
