The memorabilia from the series are among a number of items being auctioned off to raise funds for the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation later this month.
The foundation provides home nursing care and support for sick children aged under five throughout Ireland.
Normal People lead actor Paul Mescal recorded a message for the charity, encouraging people to support the emergency fundraising appeal.
We are very excited to announce that IRISH actor @mescal_paul has kindly signed Connell’s GAA shorts as part of the #AuctionThrill4JackandJill Charity Online Auction taking place from Friday August 21 at 10am to Friday August 28 at 7pm. “I’ve signed a pair of Connell’s Gaelic football shorts and it’s going to be auctioned off for an event for Jack and Jill, a charity in Ireland that provides crucial support for over 360 very ill children,” he said.
The Kildare actor’s character was known for sporting O’Neills GAA shorts in the series, which drew even more attention after it emerged that luxury fashion brand Gucci were selling a strikingly similar pair for €550 shortly after the series aired.
