RTÉ has confirmed that Eoghan McDermott will not return to 2FM.
The national broadcaster said his contract is due to expire.

The 2FM breakfast show will continue in a new direction with Doireann Garrihy staying on.
McDermott and Garrihy have presented the show for the past two years.
A statement read: “RTÉ confirms that Eoghan McDermott will not be returning to RTÉ 2FM. His contract is due to expire shortly. RTÉ is developing a new direction for the 2FM Breakfast Show which will be revealed in the coming weeks. Doireann Garrihy will remain with the show.”
The 37-year-old took unplanned annual leave in mid-February.
McDermott has worked on a number of projects across TV and radio since joining RTÉ from Spin FM in 2014.
