The 2022 probation report shows the number of people who were dealt with in the community has increased to 16,347, an increase from 15,448 in 2021.
2022 saw 11,814 probation reports completed, with 2,880 people worked with in prisons.
Of those people who were supervised in the community, 535 of them had been convicted for sexual offences, with 122 people on probation having served life sentences.
Drug offences was the most common crime for those on parole, followed by assault and theft, with 92 per cent of people on parole men.
There was €2 million of unpaid work carried out by those on parole across communities in 2022.
