Wayne Fairhurst, 32, with an unknown UK address, appeared before Judge Treasa Kelly at Dublin District Court on Friday.

Garda Peter Elliot charged him with unlawful possession and importation of cannabis and having it for the purpose of sale or supply at Terminal 2.

Judge Treasa Kelly heard that the accused was arrested and taken to Ballymun Garda station where he "made no reply" to charge.

The garda applied for a remand in custody.

Mr Fairhurst did not seek bail and told the court he worked in building and groundworks in Britain. Legal aid was granted.

He has yet to indicate a plea and will appear again at Cloverhill District Court next week.
