Jack Wall-O'Reilly was crowned the winner of the Paul Mescal lookalike competition in Smithfield in Dublin today.
Hundreds of people showed up wearing GAA shorts, silver chains and shades, hoping to win the prize of €20 or three free pints.
The competition comes ahead of the Gladiator 2 premiere tonight at the Lighthouse cinema, where Paul Mescal is due to attend.
The competition took inspiration from a similar event to honour actor Timothée Chalamet, which took place in New York.
Mescal became something of a style icon after his breakout role in Normal People.
The Kildare native stars in the sequel to Ridley Scott's 2000 epic Gladiator, alongside Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington.
In a recent appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Mescal spoke about how fame has changed his life.
Mescal said “to go from totally anonymous to not anonymous is kind of the biggest jump. You develop your own set of rules… but you develop a kind of coping mechanism from that junction and the rest is hopefully gonna stay nice and level”.
