A cyclist has died following a collision between a car and a bicycle in Ticknock, Co Dublin.

The incident happened on the Ticknock Road at around 2pm on Sunday.

The cyclist, a man aged in his 60s, was taken from the scene to St Vincent's University Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí said a post-mortem examination will be carried out on the man's remains in due course.

Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward, including those with camera (dash cam) footage from the area at the time of the collision.
