A male cyclist (50s) has died in a road traffic collision in Castleknock Village, Dublin 15.

The collision, involving a lorry and a pedal cyclist, took place at the junction of College Road and Castleknock Village this afternoon, December 19th, at around 4.30pm.

No other injuries were reported.

The man's body has been removed from the scene to the mortuary in Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown and arrangements are being made for a post-mortem examination to take place.

Castleknock Village is closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to take place.

Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have appealled for any witnesses of the collision to come forward, and anyone who may have camera footage, including dash cam, and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make their footage available to investigating gardaí.
