ESB Networks says most of the 235,000 customers impacted by power outages as a result of Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn will have their power restored by Friday night.
They said the areas that remain without power are predominantly in the Northwest, including the counties of Donegal, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo.
In a statement released to BreakingNews.ie they said: "Due to the scale of the damage on the low voltage network that has primarily affected single homes and small clusters of customers, a small number of customers will remain without supply until Saturday, January 27th.
"All available resources are deployed as our crews work to safely restore power. Real-time status on power restoration is being updated regularly and is available on www.PowerCheck.ie and www.ESBNetworks.ie.
"We would like to take this opportunity to again apologise for the disruption to family and commercial life this has caused and thank all customers across the country for their patience as our crews worked to safely restore power this week."
ESB Networks crews and contract partners are working diligently to restore electricity to those affected by damage caused to the electricity network post Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
