Gardaí have seized two firearms and drugs worth over €30,000 as part of a search operation in Dublin on Wednesday.

The search operation was conducted on wasteland in Corduff as part of ongoing investigations into organised criminal activity in the Dublin 15 area.

During the search, two revolver firearms were discovered wrapped in plastic.

A large package of Diamorphine with an estimated street value of €30,000 was also found along with approximately €3,000 worth of suspected cocaine.

Gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit and Serious Crime Unit in the DMR West were assisted by the DMR West Task Force during this operation.

The drugs are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) and the firearms will be subject to a technical examination by the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau.

Investigations are ongoing.
