A total of 494 admitted patients are waiting for beds in Irish hospitals this morning, according to today’s Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) Trolley Watch.
This includes 349 patients waiting in emergency departments, while 145 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
The most overcrowded hospital is University Hospital Limerick, where there are 104 people waiting for beds.
This is followed by Cork University Hospital (57 patients), University Hospital Galway (48 patients), and Sligo University Hospital (40 patients).
The most people waiting for beds in emergency departments are at University Hospital Limerick (46 patients), Cork University Hospital (45 patients), and St Vincent's University Hospital (37 patients).
The most overcrowded hospital in Dublin is St Vincent's University Hospital, where all 37 patients on trolleys are in the emergency department.
This is followed by St James's Hospital, where all 20 patients waiting for bed are also in the emergency department.
