A total of 505 admitted patients are waiting for hospital beds this morning, according to today’s Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) Trolley Watch.
This includes 352 patients waiting in emergency departments, while 153 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
The most overcrowded hospital is University Hospital Limerick, where there are 98 patients waiting for beds.
This is followed by Cork University Hospital (59 patients), Sligo University Hospital (45 patients), University Hospital Galway (42 patients), and Tallaght University Hospital (33 patients).
The most overcrowded emergency department is at Cork University Hospital where 55 people are waiting for beds in A&E, with four waiting on trolleys elsewhere in the hospital.
This is followed by University Hospital Limerick (42 patients), University Hospital Galway (30 patients), and St Vincent's University Hospital (27 patients).
