A total of 553 admitted patients are waiting for hospital beds this morning, according to today’s Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) Trolley Watch.
This includes 424 patients waiting in emergency departments, while 129 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
The most overcrowded hospital is University Hospital Limerick, where there are 114 patients on trolleys.
This is followed by Cork University Hospital, where 64 patients are waiting for beds, University Hospital Galway (57 patients), St Vincent's University Hospital (34 patients), Letterkenny University Hospital and Beaumont Hospital (both 30 patients).
The most overcrowded emergency departments are Cork University Hospital (61 patients), University Hospital Limerick (58 patients), and University Hospital Galway (46 patients).
In Dublin, all 34 patients on trolleys at St Vincent's University Hospital are in the emergency department, while all 30 patients waiting for beds in Beaumont Hospital are also in the emergency department.
