Figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) have shown house prices have increased in the country by 9.6 per cent in the 12 months to the end of July.
Prices in Dublin have risen by 10.3 per cent, while prices outside of Dublin have risen by 9.1 per cent.
The median price of a house purchased in the 12 months to July 2024 was €340,000.
The highest price paid for a property in the 12 months to July 2024 was €630,000 in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, while the lowest price was €171,000 in Longford.
The highest house price growth in Dublin was in South Dublin at 12.1 per cent, while Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown saw a rise of 8.3 per cent.
The region outside of Dublin that saw the largest rise in house prices was the Mid-West (Clare, Limerick, and Tipperary) at 13.4 per cent.
The region with the lowest increase in prices was the South-East, covering Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, and Wexford, which saw a 6.1 per cent rise.
In July 2024, 4,723 dwelling purchases by households at market prices were filed with the Revenue Commissioners, an increase of 13.2 per cent when compared with the 4,174 purchases in July 2023.
