The latest figures from the Irish Midwives and Nurses Organisation (INMO) show there is 413 patients waiting for beds in Irish hospitals.

312 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 101 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The hospital with the highest number of patients waiting for a bed is University Hospital Limerick, with 53 patients waiting for a bed.

29 of those patients are in the emergency department, with 24 elsewhere in this hospital.

Cork University Hospital has 49 patients waiting for a bed, with 43 of those in the emergency department.

Both Sligo University Hospital and Letterkenny University Hospital have 41 patients waiting for a bed.
