The latest figures from the Irish Midwives and Nurses Organisation (INMO) show there is 423 patients without a bed in hospitals across the country.
305 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 118 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The hospital with the most patients without a bed is University Hospital Limerick, with 71 patients without a bed.
30 of those patients are in the emergency department, with 41 people elsewhere in the hospital.
Cork University Hospital has 43 patients without bed, with all of those patients in the emergency department.
Tallaght University Hospital has 42 patients without a bed, with 27 people in the emergency department.
