Porsche has said its customers in Ireland will be contacted in relation to an ongoing recall in Britain.
Some owners are being told not to drive their luxury cars "until further notice" over concerns the wheels could fall off.
As part of ongoing quality analyses, Porsche said it was found that the wheel fastening using centre lock wheels on the Porsche 718 (982), 911 (992) and Panamera (G3) models does not meet the specifications.
The vehicles were built between September 1st, 2023 and October 23rd this year.
Porsche said the safety of customers, passengers, and third parties is its top priority and in order to ensure this, the affected vehicles should no longer be driven until the remedial measure has been implemented.
To ensure the safe operation of the central screw connection, the car manufacturer said the central screw connections must be inspected and replaced if necessary.
The availability of the required parts is currently being clarified, it said, and not all the cars manufactured between the two dates will be affected.
