Gardaí investigating the disappearance and murder of Kyran Durnin (8) have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
The man is being detained at a garda station in the east of the country.
Investigating gardaí have also commenced searches at two locations, domestic houses, in Drogheda.
Gardaí said the purpose of these searches is to discover any evidence which might provide information as to Kyran's current whereabouts or what has happened to him.

On Tuesday, a woman was arrested and questioned by gardaí before being released without charge 24 hours later.
