Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy has called for a global sign of unity, marking one month since Russia's invasion of the country.
Mr Zelenskiy's comments come as the targeting of on Ukrainian cities continue, with satellite images showing massive destruction of Mariupol - one of the hardest hit areas.
Taoiseach in Brussels
Taoiseach Micheal Martin is joining European leaders and the US president in Brussels to discuss the latest response to the war in Ukraine.
Mr Martin, who tested negative for Covid-19 after several days of isolating in Washington last week, will join other leaders for a European Council summit later today.
McGregor arrest
MMA fighter Conor McGregor is due in court after being arrested for dangerous driving in west Dublin.
The 33-year-old was driving his Bentley Continental GT, heading into the city centre from the Lucan direction, when a marked Garda car on routine patrol directed him to pull over.
Gardaí arrested McGregor on suspicion of dangerous driving and brought him back to Lucan Garda station. It is understood he was charged with dangerous driving and is expected to appear in Blanchardstown District Court next month.
Covid increases
Public behaviour needs to change now while the new Covid sub-variant BA2 is reaching its peak, immunology expert Professor Christine Loscher has warned.
The public responds well when mitigation measures are mandatory, she said, adding that if people are just “advised” they will not necessarily do so.
Prof Loscher's comments come as there were 1,425 people with the virus in hospital on Thursday morning, 53 of whom were in ICU.
Royal visit
Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will pay a visit Waterford city today, as they continue their tour of Ireland.
The pair, who are on their sixth official joint trip to the Republic of Ireland, will take in the sights of the city, fresh from their two-day stint in the North.
It is the royal couple’s first time officially visiting the county, which will be followed by a journey to Co Tipperary where they will finish their visit on Friday.
