A man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Meath.

The collision between a car and a van happened at approximately 5pm on Tuesday evening in Nobber.

The driver of the van, a man aged in his 80s, was fatally injured during the collision.

The two occupants of the second vehicle were taken to hospital by ambulance services and are currently receiving medical treatment.

The scene of the collision is currently preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

The R162 Kingscourt to Nobber road is currently closed to traffic and local diversions are in place. The road will remain closed overnight.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were traveling between Navan and Kingscourt on Tuesday evening between 4.30pm and 5.30pm are asked to provide it to investigating gardaí.
