A man has appeared in court after getting on a flight at Dublin Airport without a passport or boarding pass.
The 48-year-old boarded a plane for Birmingham on Monday night and managed to make it through security with no documents and onto the aircraft before being removed.
He appeared in court on Tuesday and was fined €700.
Responding to reports of the incident, the operator of Dublin Airport, daa, said: "We never comment on security matters for obvious reasons.
"We note the speedy apprehension of the individual in this case by Airport Police, who was caught trespassing without a boarding card after being security screened, and his subsequent arrest by An Garda Síochána and successful prosecution before the courts."
The statement added that "as with any such incident an internal review is underway".
