A man charged in connection with an alleged fatal assault in Limerick is due to appear in court on Sunday.
Gerard Curtin (42) was found unresponsive outside a property on Sarsfield Avenue in Garryowen in the early hours of Saturday morning.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel. However, he was pronounced dead a short time later.
His body was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination was carried out. Gardaí confirmed the results of the examination would not be released due to operation reasons.
A man aged in his 40s was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been charged.
He is due to appear before a special sitting of Ennis District Court on Sunday evening.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for information in relation to the incident.
