Man Remains In Custody After Fatal Tallaght Stabbing

A man remains in custody this morning in relation to a fatal stabbing in Dublin on Friday.

A 20-year-old man was found with stab wounds in Tallaght at around 4am and subsequently died of his injuries.

Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene at Drumcairn Estate in Tallaght in the early hours of yesterday morning, where a young man had been stabbed.

The 20-year-old victim was brought to Tallaght University Hospital for treatment of his injuries but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The scene was preserved for a technical examination and a postmortem is to be carried out by the State Pathologist.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in relation to the incident and is currently being held at a Dublin Garda station, where he can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
