A man has been charged and is due in court following a serious assault on another man on the northside of Dublin.
The incident occurred in the Upper Gardiner Street area during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The injured man was taken to the Mater Hospital for treatment, with his injuries understood to be serious but non-life threatening.
A man in his 30s and woman in her 20s were arrested in connection with a Garda investigation into the incident and held at Mountjoy Garda station.
In an update on Monday morning, gardaí said the man aged in his 30s will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin this morning.
The woman who was arrested has since been released, a Garda statement said, and a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
