A man who perished when he fell from rocks off the coast of Donegal this week was a Ukrainian man who had fled the war-torn country.
He was named on Thursday as Valerri Strunhar.
Mr Strunhar was in his 60s and had settled in the Gaoth Dobhair area of West Donegal.
He was a well-known figure in the area and was often seen on his bicycle traveling to fish in the area.
It was while fishing on Monday evening last that Mr Strunhar fell from rocks and entered the water around 8pm at Marameelan near Dungloe.
His body was later recovered by the emergency services and taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for a post-mortem.
People from across the West Donegal community have extended their heartfelt condolences to Mr Strunhar's family and friends following their sudden loss.

His remains will repose at Mc Glynns Funeral Home Dungloe (F94ND68) on Friday 6th September from 3pm with service at 5pm.
