Strong winds will affect many coastal regions through the rest of Wednesday and early on Thursday, with a status yellow warning in place for 14 counties.
For Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick, Met Éireann is predicting winds reaching average speeds of 50-65km/h and gusts of 90-110km/h.
Strong winds in tandem with high tides will pose an increased risk of coastal flooding.
The warning comes into effect at 3pm and will last until 1am on Thursday.
For Dublin, Louth, Meath, Wicklow, Wexford, Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal, west to northwest winds will reach average speeds of 50-65km/h, with gusts of 90-110km/h.
The combination of strong winds coupled with high tides will bring an increased risk of coastal flooding, Met Éireann said.
The warning comes into effect at 9pm on Wednesday and is valid until 2am on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the UK Met Office has also issued a warning for strong winds in counties Antrim and Down.
