At the height of the economic crash, 230,000 homes were worth less than what homeowners paid for them.

That figure reduced to 57,000 by the end of 2017.

The Sunday Independent reports three property experts, including the ESRI, believe there will be no more homeowners in negative equity by the second half of next year.
