The Oireachtas Committee on Drug Use has recommended legalising cannabis in an extremely limited way.
It suggested people should be allowed to buy small amounts of the drug in cannabis clubs.

These clubs have been in place in Spain for years.
Professor Ray Walley from UCD School of Medicine thinks this would open the gates to legalising all drugs.
Prof Walley told Newstalk: "Well, if you repeal the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977, you're effectively legalising all drug use... so that's legalisation.
"Equally in the cannabis clubs in Spain, they're considered by the police force there to facilitate money laundering."
