Orange and yellow wind warnings have been issued by Met Éireann for Clare, Galway and Mayo this evening.
Met Éireann is warning of very strong onshore winds due to Storm Fergus, coupled with high waves and high tides.
They said it could lead to localised coastal flooding and wave overtopping.
An orange warning was issued for Clare, Galway and Mayo.
It is valid from Sunday at 3pm until 8pm on Sunday.
The yellow wind warning is in place for Clare, Kerry, Galway and Mayo.
It will last from 1pm on Sunday until 9pm on the same day.
Met Éireann said Storm Fergus will generate very strong and gusty southwesterly winds, veering westerly.
Another yellow wind warning is also in place Cavan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Leitrim, Roscommon and Sligo.
That warning is valid from 6pm on Sunday until 12am on Monday.
Sunday morning will be wet and breezy weather will quickly extend to all areas, with a temporary clearance following.
However, further outbreaks of rain, possibly thundery, will extend from the west into the afternoon and evening. Turning very windy from the west in the afternoon as Storm Fergus approaches.
Winds will be particularly strong in the west with some severe or damaging gusts leading to some wave overtopping and possibly localised coastal flooding. Highest temperature of 8 to 12 degrees.
The overall outlook is unsettled with rain or showers early on.
Monday will start mostly dry with crisp sunshine.
However, scattered outbreaks of rain will move into the South and West, gradually extending to other areas towards evening or early nightfall.
Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in a moderate south to southeast breeze. Scattered outbreaks of rain will persist overnight with some mist too. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees in light to moderate variable breezes.
