Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Co Roscommon early this morning.
Emergency Services were called to the scene of the collision shortly after 5am this morning.
The incident took place on the N5 near Strokestown, involving a male pedestrian in his 30s, who was hit by a car.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the care was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Sligo where his injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

The scene remains closed as Garda forensic collision investigators are due to examine the site.
Traffic diversions are in place and are expected to remain in place for some time today.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and also to any road users with camera footage, including dash-cams from the area at around the time of the collision to come forward.
