A meeting between Mr Justice Seamus Woulfe and the Supreme Court Chief Justice to discuss the golf dinner controversy has been postponed once again.
Seamus Woulfe requested that the meeting be deferred and it will now take place on Thursday instead.
In a statement Chief Justice Frank Clarke has indicated his serious concern about the damage the process is causing.
He added that should the meeting not go ahead later this week, he will make alternative arrangements to convey his final views on the process to Justice Woulfe.
The Chief Justice was due to me Mr Justice Seamus Woulfe tpday to discuss the fallout from the Golfgate controversy.
The Supreme Court judge attended the Clifden dinner event in August which allegedly breached Covid-19 restrictions.
There were 81 people in attendance at the highly controversial event at a hotel in Clifden which led to the resignation of attendees like Minister for Agriculture Dara Calleary and EU Commissioner Phil Hogan.
Senator Jerry Buttimer also resigned as Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Seanad.
A subsequent review of Mr Justice Woulfe's attendance by former Chief Justice Susan Denham found he should not be forced to resign over the scandal.
She said this would be unjust and disproportionate.
Today was the third attempt at holding the meeting, after it was postponed on two occasion last week, the latter at the request of Mr Justice Woulfe for medical reasons.
This comes as the hotel at the centre of the scandal has had its alcohol licence renewed, despite two ongoing garda investigations into the Golfgate event.
The Irish Examiner reports the Station House Hotel in Clifden will be allowed to continue trading until September 2021.
