A woman has become the third person to die following a four-vehicle crash in the Markethill area of Co Armagh on November 4th.
Detective Sergeant McIvor, from the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We can confirm that a woman in her 40s has died after the vehicle she was travelling in was involved in the collision, which occurred on the Gosford Road at approximately 1.20am.
“She was taken to hospital for treatment for her injuries, but has sadly passed away.”
The woman is understood to be Ciera Grimley, the wife of Patrick Grimley (40), from the Madden area of the county, who also died in the crash.
Ciara McElvanna (44), from the Armagh area, was also pronounced dead a number of days after the crash in Markethill at around 1.20am on Saturday.
Two other people remain in hospital.
Det Sgt McIvor continued: “A full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing, and officers are asking anyone who witnessed it to get in touch.
“I would appeal to anyone with any information, or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage available, to contact us at the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield on 101, quoting reference number 104 04/11/23.”
