More than 500 patients were waiting for beds in Irish hospitals, figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) show.
The INMO's trolley watch shows 371 patients were waiting in emergency departments on Wednesday morning, while 133 were in wards elsewhere in hospitals.

The hospital with the highest number of patients on trolleys is University Hospital Limerick, with 127 patients.
Cork University Hospital had 57 patients waiting for beds, while there were 56 patients on trolleys at University Hospital Galway, according to the INMO.
