538 admitted patients were waiting for beds on Friday morning, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).
The INMO's trolley watch showed 353 patients were waiting in emergency departments, while 185 waited in wards elsewhere in hospitals.
At University Hospital Limerick, 98 admitted patients were waiting for beds. 39 were waiting in the emergency department while 57 waited in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
68 patients were waiting for beds at Cork University Hospital, while 45 waited at Sligo Univeristy Hospital, and 37 waited at University Hospital Galway.
Six children were waiting for beds at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.
At Tallaght Univeristy Hospital, 27 admitted patients were waiting for beds on Friday morning.
24 were waiting at both Naas General hospital and St Vincent's University Hospital, while 14 waited at St James's Hospital.
