Met Éireann is warning of treacherous conditions this morning after temperatures plummeted to -4 degrees Celsius overnight.
Two status yellow weather warnings are in place for the entire country – a low temperature alert until 10am, and a snow and ice warning until 11am.
Cold & icy this morning, away from Atlantic coastal districts where it will be less cold. Light sleet & snow will spread southwards during the morning. Sunshine & scattered wintry showers will follow from the N. Highs 0 to 3C.

The forecaster expects light sleet and snow to spread southwards during the morning, with snow accumulations possible.
The Road Safety Authority is warning motorists to be wary of black ice on road surfaces.
In the North, a status yellow warning has also been issued by the UK Met Office, with snow and ice potentially leading to difficult travel conditions.
The warning lasts until 9am this morning.
