There are a number of different stories featuring on Irish newspapers' front pages on Wednesday morning, including political stories, Oasis-centred stories, and crime stories.

The Irish Times lead with a story about how immigration has risen to the highest level in 17 years, a story about how a child with autism was refused places by 19 schools, and a story about a sharp rise in early release of inmates due to overcrowding.

The Irish Examiner leads with stories on Dublin hotel prices for Oasis's reunion gigs, Gardaí identifying suppliers of deadly opioids, the Tánaiste saying that we need 60,000 homes a year, and over one fifth of farmers being at risk of suicide.

The Irish Independent leads with a story on how a hike to the electricity levy will prevent cuts to energy bills.

The Echo leads with a story on how over 4,000 home support hours approved for people in Co Kerry and Co Cork were not delivered, alongside a story on pub closures.

The Irish Daily Mail leads with a story on the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council warning about the cost of people in Ireland living longer.

The Irish Daily Mirror and Irish Daily Star both lead with stories on Oasis's much-anticipated reunion.

The Herald leads with a story about a senior Kinahan cartel member dying in hospital.

Meanwhile, the UK Prime Minister and the announcement of a much-heralded reunion tour from Oasis feature heavily on the front page of Wednesday’s UK newspapers.

Sir Keir Starmer’s speech warning that the forthcoming Budget will be “painful” and calling on the nation to “accept short-term pain for long-term good” is the main focus of the UK Daily Mirror, Financial Times and Daily Express.

The Daily Telegraph and UK Daily Mail report that Sir Keir has sparked panic amongst landlords and investors with his words on Tuesday, with a capital gains tax “raid” appearing likely.

The i, The UK Times and The Guardian all lead on the Prime Minister’s trip to Germany and France for a “once-in-a-generation opportunity” to mend relations with Europe in a post-Brexit world.

Several papers feature Liam and Noel Gallagher after the Oasis reunion was announced, the Metro leading with the news that the brothers have set aside their long-standing feud for the tour in 2025.

The UK Daily Star opts for a story of a third kind, with scientists in India claiming Earth would be wiped out in the event of first contact with extraterrestrial life.
