A woman in her 70s has been killed in a fatal road collision involving a van and a pedestrian, at Moyasta, Co Clare on Saturday evening.
The pedestrian, a woman in her late 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has since been removed to University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
No other injuries were reported following the incident.
A portion of the N67 at Moyasta is currently closed with local diversions in place. A forensic examination of the scene is due to take place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N67 in the Moyasta area between 7pm and 7.30pm are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
