Gardaí have arrested a man following a fatal hit-and-run on Monday night.
A woman in her 40s was found with serious injuries in Newbridge, Co Kildare at about 8pm.

She was taken to Naas General Hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
The man (50s) is detained at Kildare Garda station.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.
