A status yellow rain warning has been issued for seven counties on Thursday.
The warning has been issued for Mayo, Cork, Sligo, Galway, Kerry, Limerick and Clare.
The warning for Kerry and Cork will begin at 3:00pm on Thursday until 1:00pm on Friday, while the warning for the remainder of the counties begins at 3:00pm on Thursday until 3:00am on Friday.
Met Éireann warns of heavy and persistent rain that could lead to localised flooding and dangerous driving conditions.
The rain will spread further east through Thursday afternoon and evening, with some heavy falls possibly causing localised flooding.
Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds, becoming northerly over the western half of the country later.
