The Aran Islands have been named as one of the best honeymoon destinations for newly-weds in 2022.
The islands, which are located off the west coast of Ireland, ranked number seven in the top 10 best honeymoon destinations by Big 7 Travel.
The list, which is based on digital data such as Google trends, Instagram hashtags and dedicated Pinterest boards, ranked locations based on their overall romance, unique couple things to do and affordability.
Described as a "must visit for any couple who want to enjoy a romantic and secluded stay", the Aran Islands ranked among some of the best known honeymoon locations around the world.
They placed just behind destinations such as New England, which took first place, Greece, Zanzibar and the Maldives.
Other locations that feature in the top 10 include Antigua, South Africa, Maui, Florence and The Isles of Scilly.
The Aran Islands' "rural charm and stunning scenery" were identified as draws for newly married couples, with activities such as walks and cycles highly recommended.
