With many woman buying their outfits for the occasion months in advance, organisers of the Best Dressed and Best Hat competitions decided to go virtual, welcoming entries via Instagram.
The competition is currently open, with those wishing to take part are being asked to donate to a charity of their choice before uploading a picture of their outfit or hat to Instagram.
Entries must include the hashtags #HerVirtualBestDressed and #IMadeMyDonation before tagging @galwayraces_official, @Herdotie and their chosen charity.
Beautiful hats and outfits from all around the country have been flooding in since the competition opened this morning at 10am
The competition will remain open for entries until 4pm this afternoon, with the finalists announced at 5pm and the winners of both competitions being chosen at 7pm.
The judges for this year's competition are last year's winner Pamela Uba, Her presenter Cassie Stokes and Her CCO Gillian Fitzpatrick.
