There may not have been an official red carpet, but that didn’t stop television’s finest from going all-out with their outfits – there was still plenty of fabulous fashion to ogle throughout the virtual ceremony.
Here are the best-dressed celebrities from the 2020 TV Emmys…
Jennifer Aniston
A big believer in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ approach to fashion, Jennifer Aniston donned her signature red carpet look – a long, black strappy dress – to present an award alongside Kimmel. This wasn’t any old black dress, though, it was a John Galliano for Christian Dior gown accessorised with a sparkling Neil Lane necklace.
Zendaya
No red carpet? No problem. Not when you’re Tracee Ellis Ross that is. The Black-ish actor rolled out a rectangle of red in her own back garden and proceeded to sashay down it barefoot in her ultra-glamorous gold ruffled gown by Alexandre Vauthier, which she teamed with Jimmy Choo heels and a matching face mask.
Reese Witherspoon
Reese Witherspoon hosted a mini Emmys party in the garden of her LA home, wearing an understated Louis Vuitton minidress. She paired the navy V-front dress, which had pretty bow details on the shoulders, with blue sparkling stud earrings and a bright red lip.
Kerry Washington
The other A-list attendee at Reese Witherspoon’s garden party? Kerry Washington, who looked super glam in a gold and black sequinned Dolce & Gabbana gown with black beaded tassels. The actor added green drop earrings by Chopard which looked amazing beside her sleek bobbed hairstyle.
Catherine O’Hara
Schitt’s Creek swept the board, taking home a total of seven awards including lead actress in a comedy series for Catherine O’Hara. The 66-year-old looked incredibly stylish in a high-necked black Valentino dress with long sequinned sleeves, which she wore with chunky black boots in a look we imagine her on-screen alter ego Moira would admire.
Julia Garner
Winner of best supporting actress in a drama series, Julia Garner tapped into 2020’s biggest fashion trend: dressing from the waist up. In a cream silk Chanel top and trousers with a multi-strand pearl necklace, matching hair clip and tousled blonde hair, the Ozark star was bringing major 1920s vibes.
