Renault Scenic Wins Irish Car Of The Year

The Renault Scenic E-Tech has been named as Irish Car of Year for 2025. The French car, which started life as a people carrier in the mid-1990s, picked up the same prize in 1997 and was immensely popular amongst Irish buyers.

Now the quasi-crossover is picking up accolades in the new electric era, including the prestigious title of Europe's Car of the Year 2024.

While it bears little relationship to the practical original, the new EV version has been admired for its exterior styling, spacious interior and a finish, particularly surrounding the driver, that is far closer to premium than Renault has ever delivered to date.

Offered with either a 60kWh battery delivering 420km range from a full charge, or 87kWh battery with 625km, prices start at €39,995 after grants, rising to €52,995.
