The developers of the "Hitman" game series are removing content featuring Conor McGregor.

IO Interactive says it comes "in light of a recent court ruling," and it is ending all collaboration with him.

The MMA fighter appears as a side character in the most recent Hitman game.

However, the developer and publisher says it has taken the court ruling "very seriously."

In a post on X, they said: "In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately.

"We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today."
