Lawlor resigns from Committee

Dublin West TD Liam Lawlor has resigned as vice-chairman of the Oireachtas Finance and Public Service Committee.

Dublin West TD Liam Lawlor has resigned as vice-chairman of the Oireachtas Finance and Public Service Committee.

Deputy Lawlor's move came after a Fine Gael-sponsored motion of no confidence in his holding of the position was debated by the Committee.

In his resignation speech, Deputy Lawlor told Fine Gael's representative on the Committee, Jimmy Deenihan TD, that he had done his party leader's "dirty work".
