Health workers to vote for strike

Some 4,000 health workers employed in Eastern Region Health Authority hospitals are to ballot for strike action in a row over the non-payment of salaries and an overdue pay award.

Some 4,000 health workers employed in Eastern Region Health Authority hospitals are to ballot for strike action in a row over the non-payment of salaries and an overdue pay award.

Paul Bell of SIPTU said it is the second time in eight months that his members have had to engage with the health authority over the issue and, as of March 29th, depending on the ballot, workers will hold a one-day strike against the ERHA.
