Rebel UUP Assembly member Peter Weir has been suspended from the party.

Rebel UUP Assembly member Peter Weir has been suspended from the party.

Anti-Agreement Mr Weir has voted against his party in several votes at the Stormont Assembly.

He was suspended at a meeting of party chiefs this afternoon.

As he was the candidate in North Down for the Westminster elections, a re-selection meeting will have to be held.
